Brisbane Attractions
Brisbane is a lovely city to visit and has lots to offer the visitor apart from its wonderful day spas.
Brisbane River – The river is the main artery of the city and taking a journey on the CityCat is a fantastic way to enjoy its delights whilst getting a cheap cruise thrown in. Great places to stop for a nose around include fashionable New Farm and vibrant South Bank.
South Bank – This is a great spot to hang out and take in the sighs and sounds of Brisbane. South Bank is one of Brisbane's must-sees, with plenty of fabulous bars, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. If you're in the mood for some entertainment you need look no further – South Bank has everything from cinemas and free live performances through to events like cultural festivals. If none of this appeals, you could just chill on the sandy beach or sit back and people watch at one of the grassed picnic areas.
Cultural Attractions – If you feel like something little more stimulating than just admiring the beautiful people at South Bank, perhaps a stroll around the wonderful artworks at the Queensland Art Gallery or the new Gallery of Modern Art could be more to your liking? The Queensland Museum always holds something of interest for visitors and the Sciencentre is a great place to spend a few hours, especially if you are traveling with children.
Mt Coot-tha Lookout – Make the trip to the top of Mt Coot-tha and you'll get a fabulous view of the whole of Brisbane as she lies curved within the bends of the Brisbane River.
City Botanic Gardens – Spend a morning at the City Botanic Gardens and you'll begin to appreciate the sub-tropical heart of the Queensland capital. Take a walk along the boardwalk through the mangroves and you'll believe you're in an exotic paradise.
Dining and Nightlife – If you're searching for a fabulous meal in a top restaurant or a refreshing drink in a trendy bar, New Farm and Fortitude Valley are the hip suburbs to see and be seen in. Take your pick from the dozens of cafes and bars, eateries and clubs and you'll see that Brisbane is no longer the sleepy little place it once was!
Beyond the obvious charms of Brisbane itself, there are splendid beaches, striking tablelands and tempting patches of rainforest all within a short drive of the city. And don't forget that Brisbane is also one of the gateways to the incredible Great Barrier Reef region. So why not plan a trip to beautiful Brisbane and make sure that you book a pampering session at one of her glorious day spas whilst you're there!
